Think you and your friends or colleagues have what it takes to be spelling bee champs? Put your skills to the test by registering a team to participate in this Kahoot-based competition! Prefer to sit back and watch? Purchase a spectator ticket to observe and root for your favorite team (and maybe get called on to help if a team chooses to Buzz a Bee)!
Bottomless Bites & Bevs
Come hungry! For the first hour of the event, teams and spectators alike will chow down on a BBQ buffet by 4Rivers, accompanied by unlimited pours of wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks and signature cocktails. Give yourself a sugar rush before diving into the competition with sweet bites from Everglazed Donuts, Olde Hearth Bread Co., and Raglan Road.
This year, the Adult Literacy League is introducing a NEW signature fundraising event: The City BEEautiful Grown-Up Spelling Bee!
But this isn’t your elementary school teacher’s spelling bee. No indeed, this grown-up spelling bee features food, drinks, and teams of best buds and work colleagues spelling TOGETHER for the crown. Think bar trivia night vibes mixed with a charity gala’s feel-good moments and family UNO night’s heated competition.
Prefer to watch the chaos unfold? Supporters will also be able to purchase spectator tickets to observe the evening’s shenanigans and cheer on their favorite teams!
But just because it’s a charity bee, don’t think we’re above playing dirty…team members AND spectators in the audience are welcome to purchase Help from the Hive tokens to give their favorite teams the opportunity to Buzz a Bee (phone a friend in the audience), issue a Bee Sting (look at another team’s answer) or Bribe the Judge (get the judge to give them the correct answer)!
